What I Believe

I believe that the world would be a better place if we were to replace false sympathies with real action. I believe that conserving is more useful than recycling. I believe that taking responsibilty for one's actions is better than feeling guilty for them.
I believe that gender is more of a game than a fixed reality. I believe that most people are much more interesting than they believe themselves to be, save for the people who believe without question that they are extremely interesting. I believe that one of the best religous experiences one can have involves listening to "Whole Earth Chant" by the Paul Winter Consort (it's on the album Icarus)
I believe that the concept of sin has much more to do with power and politics than religion. I believe that hope is more important than love. I believe that love is more important than fear.
I believe in Angels, but I doubt that they have anything to do with heaven or hell. I believe that while heaven and hell may exist that they are neither polar opposites nor are they mutually exclusive. I believe that simple linear thinking is the refuge of half-wits.
I believe that Pandora, Lilith and Eve have all gotten really bad raps. I believe that there is no moral distinction between eating chicken and eating humans. I believe that poverty is an act of violence.
