The Gender Assessment is a tool I devised to help people better understand how they view gender and gender identity. It's best used in a workshop context, in which members can share their own responses with one another, but it can also be done in one-on-one sessions. The idea is for the participants to choose one circle as the "feminine" circle, and the other as the "masculine" one. They then write in traits which they feel belong in the individual circles. The point of intersection between the circles is where traits which the respondents view as neither specifically "masculine" nor "feminine" belong. This isn't intended to label or classify people, but instead to bring us more into awareness about the labels and stereotypes we already hold.
